FOV Calculator
Horizontal, vertical, and diagonal field of view at an aspect ratio, with advertised game presets.
Horizontal FOV is left-to-right. Vertical is up-and-down. Diagonal is the corner-to-corner angle. Game chips use advertised values, not a photographed camera. CS2’s 90° is a 4:3 figure; Source games scale that with hor+.

FAQ
- What do horizontal, vertical, and diagonal mean?
- Horizontal is left-to-right, vertical is up-and-down, and diagonal is the corner-to-corner angle. They are linked by aspect ratio.
- Are game presets measured?
- They use advertised FOV values, not a photographed camera. CS2’s 90° is a 4:3 figure.
- What is hor+?
- Source games keep the 4:3 vertical FOV and widen the horizontal angle on a wider monitor. For a CS2 or Source preset, the lead number is that 16:9 horizontal — about 106.3° from a 90° 4:3 setting. That is a community convention. The cards underneath are the angle you typed at the aspect you selected.
- What is the optional screen width?
- Viewing distance and screen width give the angle that screen subtends to your eyes — not the game’s FOV setting.
