- How are words counted?
- The trimmed text is split on whitespace. A hyphenated word counts as one.
- How is reading time calculated?
- Words divided by 200 words a minute, shown as minutes and seconds. Nine words is 3 seconds, not a rounded minute.
- Do line breaks count as characters?
- Yes. Every character in the box is counted, including spaces and new lines. “Without spaces” removes all whitespace.
- Does any of this leave my browser?
- No. Your text stays on your device.
