- What is Flesch reading ease?
- A number from the count of words, sentences, and syllables. Higher is easier. Around 60 to 70 is plain English.
- How are syllables counted?
- Vowel groups in each word, with a silent trailing e removed when that still leaves a syllable. It’s an estimate.
- Does a high score mean the writing is good?
- It means the surface is easy to read. It doesn’t check whether the facts are right.
