Crypto Position Size Calculator
Position size from account risk and a stop — no exchange, no order.
How many units fit a loss you choose, if the stop is hit. No exchange and no order.
Size
risk amount ÷ |entry − stop|
Risk if the stop hits
100.00
Stop distance
5.00
Notional at entry
2,000.00
The distance is absolute, so a stop above the entry uses the same size. This does not include fees or slippage.
Worked example
A $10,000 account, risking 1%, can lose $100. An entry of $100 and a stop at $95 is $5 of risk per coin, so your size is 20 coins — a notional of $2,000.
FAQ
- What is the size?
- The risk amount divided by the distance from entry to stop. That's how many units you can hold before a stop-out costs the risk amount.
- Does this place an order?
- No. It doesn't connect to an exchange.
- What if the stop is above the entry?
- The distance is the absolute gap, so a short uses the same size maths.
